Our Office

We offer a comprehensive range of personalized vision services, with a goal to improve the visual acuity, visual comfort, and visual efficiency for each patient. Eyes on Northshore is a private practice offering comprehensive eye exams and specialized vision services, including specialty contact lens fittings, myopia control, and dry eye evaluations. Our vision therapy office offers vision therapy, visual neurorehabilitation, and sports vision training.

Our Eye Doctors

Dr. Susan A. Carter

Dr. Susan Carter is an optometrist in West Knoxville that specializes in pediatric eye care and vision therapy. Dr. Susan has a passion for working with children and patients with special needs. She is also licensed to treat and manage eye conditions such as dry eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Dr. Susan attended Maryville College for her undergraduate education and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree and residency in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. She is a member of COVD, ISVA, and NORADr. Susan and her husband, Ridge, enjoy gardening, attending sporting events, and spending time with their two children.

Dr. Lacey Puckett

Dr. Lacey Puckett is a local of East Tennessee. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee and received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2006. Dr. Puckett became an entrepreneur in 2008 after purchasing a practice in East Town Mall. After the announcement of the closure of East Town Mall in 2019, Dr. Puckett chose to make changes in her professional career that would allow her to spend more time with her family and she embraced the opportunity of providing eyecare in a private practice setting. Dr. Puckett provides primary care optometry as well as treating all medical conditions of the eye including glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration, etc. Dr. Puckett excels at fitting multifocal contact lenses and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Puckett also has vast knowledge in workplace and functional prescription design which she uses to create individualized prescriptions to fit her patients unique needs. Dr. Puckett has designed prescriptions for musicians and maestros of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, professional artists, and professional billiard’s players. She will also specialize in dry eye treatment and plans to add dry eye therapy tools into the practice. 

Besides being an optometrist and entrepreneur, Dr. Puckett is also a devoted mother to two young children. Dr. Puckett enjoys spending time with her family and loves being outdoors, hiking, and being on the lake. She is passionate about her family and providing quality eyecare to those who trust her with their eyecare needs.

Our Staff

Rachel Potter Sanchez, CPO

Rachel is a certified paraoptometric technician and vision therapist. She is from Maryville, TN. Rachel has extensive experience working with children and is currently continuing her education as a Certified Optometric Vision Therapist to better patient care. She speaks Spanish and enjoys working with patients to improve the visual system. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys volunteering and spending time with her husband, daughter, and loved ones.

Misty Wynn

Misty serves our patients at the front desk, verifying insurances and ordering contact lenses. She has been working alongside Dr. Puckett for over 10 years and enjoys spending time with her family and pets.
